Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 08 -138 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING $1,000 DONATION FROM TARGET FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE DOMESTIC ABUSE RESPONSE TEAM WHEREAS, Target is aware that the Lino Lakes Police Department operates under the Community Oriented Policing Philosophy. As part of this philosophy, the department continually looks for ways to connect with the community and strengthen the partnership between the police and community. The Lino Lakes Police Department responds to incidents of domestic abuse and is committed to ensuring that services are provided to the victims of this crime that will lead to a lasting solution for those involved; and WHEREAS, Target supports the efforts of strengthening our community and families. The donation of $1,000 will be beneficial in identifying victims caught in the cycle of family violence and help them get the services they need to break this cycle. The ultimate goal will be the prevention of family violence in our community; and WHEREAS, Target has donated $1,000 to the city in their support of this outreach program in this community; and WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in the following manner. Increase Revenue — Contributions 101 - 3720 -000 $1,000.00 Increase Police Expenditure $1,000.00 (101- 420 -4214 -000 Crime Prevention) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council members, do hereby accept the donation of $1,000.00 and wishes to express its gratitude to Target for the donation. John Bergeson, Mayor Julie Bartell, City Clerk Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 24th day of November, 2008.
