• <br />• <br />• <br />WS — Item 4 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item 4 <br />Date: December 1, 2008 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Gordon Heitke <br />Re: North Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition <br />Background <br />Mr. Dick Swanson of the Blaine City Council appeared before the Council at the <br />November 3, 2008 work session to provide an update on I -35W issues and the activities <br />of the North Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition. The coalition consists of north metro local <br />governments served by I -35W who plan and advocate for I -35W improvements. Mr. <br />Swanson encouraged the City of Lino Lakes to join the coalition. He stated that the <br />membership fee is based on population and market value, with the first year of <br />membership being $2,000. The Council directed staff to place this issue on the <br />December work session agenda for further consideration. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />Staff is seeking direction as to whether the Council wishes to become a member of the <br />North Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition in order to prepare the necessary resolution and <br />budget adjustment. <br />Attachments <br />1.
