Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council <br />City of Link Lakes <br />Page 29 <br />Bleacher Safety (Continued) <br />By January 2001 ,municipalities will be required to provide the commissioner of administration with a <br />signed certification of compliance prepared by a qualified and certified building official or state licensed <br />design professional that certifies the bleachers have been inspected, are in compliance with the safety <br />requirements, and are structurally sound. Bleachers must be re-inspected at least every five years and <br />a structural inspection is required every 10 years. The commissioner of administration is required to <br />forbid the use of bleachers that do not meet the safety requirements. <br />We welcome the opportunity to discuss the points mentioned in this letter or any other accounting and <br />procedural issues in order to coordinate our efforts with you, the mutual objectives being the <br />development of more effective accounting procedures for the City. We understand that some of the <br />aforementioned points are in the process of implementation or may already have been implemented; <br />however, these points are noted so that effective follow-up can be accomplished. <br />We sincerely appreciate all the courtesies and cooperation extended to us by you and the staff of the <br />City, and thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.
