Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council
City of Lino Lakes
Page 10
GENERAL FUND
The general fund of the City is maintained to account for the current operating and capital outlay
expenditures common to all cities. These basic services include general government, public safety,
public works and parks, recreation and forestry and conservation and natural resources.
State aids (including local government aid, HACA, and other state aids) and local property taxes
represent 73.0% of revenue sources of the general fund for 1999 which is comparable to the 74.9% for
1998.
General Fund Revenue
The following chart shows the City's General Fund sources of revenue for the year ended
December 31, 1999
General Fund Revenue By Source
Intergovernmental
17.6 %
Licenses & Permits
154%
Charges for
Services
5.2%
Fines
1 6%
Other
4 7%
Taxes
55 4%
The total General Fund Revenue for 1999 was $5,343,453. This represents a decrease of $378,910 or
6.6% from 1998. The decrease in total revenue can be attributed to a decrease in intergovernmental
revenue. The 1998 balance in intergovernmental revenue was larger mainly as a result of storm
cleanup aid received.
