City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota
Management Report, Page 19
Capital Project Funds
The financial statements for the City's Capital Project Funds are presented in
Statements 12 and 13 of the 1985 Annual Financial Report. A Capital Project Fund is a
classification of funds to account for receipts and disbursement of monies used for
acquisition and construction of capital facilities other than those financed by special
assessment funds. The fund balances of the Capital Project Funds at December 31, 1985
and 1984 were:
Fund
Parks and Playground
Capital Improvements
Community Development Block Grant
LAWCON Grant
City Hall Expansion
Totals
December 31,
1985 1984
$ 122,341
117,797
(133)
(43,302)
-0-
$ 196,703
$ 111,162
14,394
(14,474)
(41,027)
(50,866)
$ 19,189
Increase
(Decrease)
$ 11,179
103,403
14,341
(2,275)
50,866
$177,514
Parks and Playground
This fund was established to account for dedicated park fees. The City uses the
Parks and Playgrounds Fund to collect both ordinance restricted fees and donations from
various groups. The fund balance of $122,341 at December 31, 1985 is available for
expenditures by the City to fund capital outlay and maintenance of dedicated park lands.
The City normally collects park dedication fees upon subdivision. The City has made
exceptions for several developers to allow for payment upon development (as opposed to
subdivision). The amount of these park dedication fees receivable was $5,060 at
December 31, 1985.
