Bengtson; Environmental Coordinator, Marty Asleson; and City Clerk, Julie Bartell. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />There was no one present for public comment. <br />Recognition of Officer Tim Ross — A plaque was presented to Officer Ross by Mayor Bergeson <br />and Police Chief Pecchia, in recognition of Mr. Ross' 30 years of service to the City of Lino <br />Lakes. <br />State Representative Bob Dettmer —Representative Dettmer reported on his work at the State <br />Legislature, including his service on the K.-12 Education Finance, Higher Education Workforce, <br />Property Tax, Rules and Veterans Affairs committees. He especially pointed out his goal to get <br />repealed and reworked the Green Acres legislation, as well as his work on veterans affairs in • <br />honor of the nations service men and women. <br />State Senator Ray Vandeveer — Senator Vandeveer noted his involvement with the work to <br />improve the aforementioned Green Acres legislation. He pointed out that the state is facing a <br />huge budget deficit and that he understands that the city faces difficulties related to the state's <br />unallotment of HCVA funds. He urged the city to be prepared for additional losses of that type <br />of funding in 2009. In addition Mr. Vandeveer pointed out that he is working on a watershed <br />reform bill that could arlclress the lack of oversight that sometimes occurs with watershed district <br />governance and the issue of taxes being levied by the group without elected representation. <br />SETTING THE AGENDA <br />Item 8A was removed from the agenda and will be considered at the next regular meeting. <br />January 26, 2009 <br />DRAFT <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 26, 2009 <br />. 6:35 p.m. <br />: 7:10 p.m <br />: Council Member Reinert, O'Donnell and <br />Mayor Bergeson <br />: Council Member Stoltz and Gallup <br />43 <br />44 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve the Consent Agenda.
