2008 Volunteer Groups <br />Public Safety Citizen's Commission - Members of the Lino Lakes Police Department continued <br />their work with citizens the Public Safety Citizen's Commission. The purpose of this committee <br />is to provide a formal structure to share information and offer an opportunity for officers and <br />citizens to provide feedback on police department topics and issues. Members of this committee <br />review and analyze topics of community concern, share information with the community related <br />to the police department, provide feedback on potential police department improvement <br />initiatives, offer advice on pending policy considerations and are communicators to policy <br />makers on police issues and concerns. Members of this committee are Daryl Bartsch, Karen <br />Bye, Lyle Bye, Lynne Crupi, Bob Ficcadenti, Howard Hill, Vince Lechrnan. Lisa Miller. Tony <br />Robeck, Mary Strohmayer, Judy Warren, Chief Pecchia, Captain Strege. Officer Mitch Demars. <br />Officer Adam Halverson, and Karen Anderson. Together they logged over 260 Volunteer <br />hours. <br />Police Reserve Program - <br />The Lino Lakes Police Department Reserve Officer Unit continued their longstanding <br />dedication to community service by providing 2,867.75 volunteer hours to the Police <br />Department. . The Reserves help the department and the community by: <br />• Assisting officers on patrol, transporting prisoners, providing traffic direction._ <br />conducting neighborhood and business check. and performing bike and 4 -wheel patrol. <br />• Representing the police department at school and community functions, such as: <br />carnivals, parades, DARE, graduations. <br />• Assist with National Night Out, the Senior Safety Fair, the Youth Safety Camp, Police <br />Department Open House, and Public Safety Citizens Academy <br />• Participate and assist with role playing at department trainings, CERT training sessions. <br />and Explorer trainings. <br />• Providing assistance for the Turtleman Triathlon race. <br />• Assisting with the Anoka County DWI Task Force <br />• Assisting the cities of Blaine, Coon Rapids. Anoka and Mounds View with their annual <br />festivals. <br />Reserve Officers are trained in first aid, traffic direction, defensive tactics. patrol tactics weap- <br />ons training, vehicle lockouts, report writing, and use of police radios. <br />17 <br />
