Bengtson, Associate Planner Date: February 25, 2009 Re: March 9, 2008 City Council Agenda Item 6A KI Auto — Outdoor Sales Lot Attached is the staff report for Item 6.A. on the regular agenda of the March 9, 2009 City Council meeting. This item will be discussed at the March 2, 2009 work session, under the regular agenda item portion of the meeting. This report and its attachments are great in length and therefore I felt it was prudent to get the report out to you as soon as possible. Included as an attachment are the draft minutes of the Planning and Zoning Board meeting. As you read those minutes you will note that a number of residents spoke about the issue, and there may be significant public attendance of the work session and regular meetings. Additionally, the applicant and property owner have approached staff with a preliminary discussion of purchasing the property to the east and expanding their operations. A preliminary plan may be available at the work session. This issue is separate from the regular agenda item request (Comprhensive Plan Amendment, Rezoning, and Conditioinal Use Permit), but the council may feel it is appropriate to discuss the concept of expansion.
