The City of Columbus received petitions of 54% in favor paving the entire road length
and 63% in favor of paving from Lake Drive to 4th Avenue. On September 21, 2005 the
Lino Lakes City Council directed City Staff to send a letter to residents stating that there
is not enough support for the project to proceed any further with the paving of Pine Street
at this time.
The City of Columbus prepared the original cost estimate in 2005 and the project was
split 50% - 50% between the City of Columbus and the City of Lino Lakes. The project
was to consist of culvert replacement, subgrade correction, subgrade preparation and
bituminous surfacing 22 to 24 feet wide and 3.5 inches thick.
Requested Council Direction
City Staff is requesting direction from the City Council on how to proceed with this
petition to research the cost of paving Pine Street.
2
•
•
•
