Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 09-23 <br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />FOR SUBMITTAL TO METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 473.864 requires that every city within the Seven County <br />Metropolitan Area must review and, if necessary, update its comprehensive plan every ten years <br />and submit it to the Metropolitan Council for review; and <br />WHEREAS, the City conducted an extensive planning process that included a quality of life <br />survey in 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, the quality of life survey was followed by the creation of a citizen committee that <br />prepared the 2030 Vision Plan, which was completed in 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council established the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Panel, a citizen <br />group that worked with city staff and the City Council through 2007, 2008, and into 2009 to <br />prepare the 2030 Comprehensive Plan; and <br />411 WHEREAS, the goals and policies in the 2030 Vision Plan formed the foundation of the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Board conducted two public hearings on the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan, on September 9, 2008 and April 8, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby approves the <br />2030 Comprehensive Plan for submittal to the Metropolitan Council. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this approval includes the revisions to the draft plan <br />included in the June 8, 2009 report and attachments. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that following review by the Metropolitan Council, the City <br />Council will consider final approval of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this day of , 2009. <br />• <br />John J.
