City of Lino Lakes <br />2008 Budget Preparation Calendar <br />• June 8 — Budget worksheets and calendars distributed to Directors. <br />• July 2 — City Council provides direction on budget parameters. <br />• July 9 — Departmental budget requests are prepared and submitted. <br />• July 9- August 13 — Administrator and Finance Director review requests with <br />Directors and develop proposed 2008 Budget. Proposed budget distributed to <br />City Council. <br />• August 22 — Budget work session - City Council reviews proposed 2008 <br />Budget. <br />• September 5 — Follow -up City Council budget work session. <br />• September 10 — City Council approves proposed 2008 Budget and Tax Levy <br />and sets Truth in Taxation hearing dates. <br />• By September 15 - Proposed Budget, Tax Levy and Truth in Taxation hearing <br />dates are certified to Anoka County Auditor. <br />• Mid - November— County mails Truth in Taxation notices to taxpayers. <br />• December 10 — City Council holds Truth in Taxation Hearing. <br />• December 17 — City Council holds Continuation Hearing, if necessary. City <br />Council adopts final 2008 Budget and Tax Levy at Subsequent Hearing. <br />• By December 28 — City certifies final 2008 Budget and Tax Levy to Anoka <br />County Auditor. <br />
