• ATTACHMENT A, RESOLUTION 09 -85 <br />• <br />• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 07 -09 <br />AN ORDINANCE Creating Chapter 607 of the City Code Relating to a Tax Imposed <br />upon Lodging <br />The purpose of creating Chapter 607 of the City Code is to authorize the imposition of a <br />tax upon lodging to provide funding for a convention and tourism bureau to promote the <br />city as a tourist and convention center. <br />Section 607.3 Imposition of a Lodging Tax. Pursuant to M.S.A. § 469.190, there is <br />hereby imposed a three percent (3 %) lodging tax on the gross receipts from the <br />furnishing for consideration of lodging within the City of Lino Lakes on or after January <br />1, 2010. <br />Section 607.17 Use of Proceeds. The ninety -five (95) percent of the gross proceeds <br />obtained from the collection of lodging taxes shall be used by the City in accordance <br />with M.S.A. § 469.190 as the same may be amended from time to time to fund a local <br />convention or tourism bureau for the purpose of marketing the City as a tourist or <br />convention center. <br />Passed by the Lino Lakes City Council on October 12, 2009. <br />This is a summary of the adopted ordinance.
