ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 2000 <br />D. Open Space Design Tour - Asleson asked if anyone is interested in attending this tour <br />which is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2000. O'Connell stated she would like to <br />attend and will provide a report at the next meeting. <br />OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Plant Community Groupings - Mach reviewed his conversation with several DNR staff <br />members about the option of developing groupings of trees that would have evolved <br />together naturally. He suggested this could be an alternative to native prairie plantings. <br />He stated he had provided that information to staff and suggested it be considered in <br />future projects rather than singly planted trees. <br />B. Landscaping Firm — Premier Services - Donlin stated she is associated with the <br />Pheasants Forever organization and Jim Helseth of Premier Services who does prairie <br />restoration work. She provided staff with that information. <br />CLOSE MEETING AND CONFIRM NEXT MEETING' DATE <br />It was noted that the next meeting of the Environmental Board will be on October 25, 2000. <br />There being no further business, Donlin moved to adjourn at 9:08 p.m. O'Connell seconded the <br />motion.
