Meaic -plant prefers • site that is moderately, but not excessively moist, W = plant prefers a moist location <br />and will tolerate short periods of standing water or moderately long periods of constantly- moist soil conditions. <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR TREES, SHRUBS, PERENNIALS, AND PRAIRIE PLANTS: <br />• All deciduous trees arc to be 2" in diameter or greater (measured at 6" from ground) and root systems ball and burlopped (B&B) and <br />supported in a sturdy wire basket that holds the root ball in a firm, rigid condition (See pp. 5.6, item 1.3.1 through 1.4 of AAN Standards for <br />Nursery Stock). <br />• All evergreen (coniferous) tans arc to be 5'.6' in height and trees dug and processed using B&B method with sturdy wire basket around <br />root ball. K1inimum root ball diameters shall be the same as those specified fur duiduous trees (item 1.3.1 through 1.4 and pp 14.15, item <br />3.2.1). Minimum diameter ball is 20" for a 5' conifer, 22" minimum for a 6' bee. <br />• All shrubs, evergreen and deciduous, are to be of 4 -5 gallon container situ (in 63 or 45 pot sizes). <br />• AS perennials and prairie plants are to be in containers no smaller than what is specified in plant list. Container sizes specified in inches <br />refer to the diameter or width of container or pot. A NI size refers to • 1 gallon size container. <br />OTIIER REQUIREMENTS: <br />• Mulch all trees and shrubs with 4' of hardwood shredded bark mulch. Mulched areas around tree trunk should be 4' in diameter. <br />• Mulch all perennial beds with 2" of hardwood shredded bark mulch <br />• After planting and before mulching. apply • granular proanergent herbicide (such as Preen) around all plants. <br />• Edge all beds with Black Diamond Vinyl edging or equivalent. <br />• Wato plants thoroughly after planting.
