ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING December 12, 2012 <br />DRAFT MINUTES 2 <br />5. ACTION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Finalize 2013 Goals <br /> <br />Add: Coordinate with RCWD outreach and education. <br /> <br />Add: Continue to monitor the soil quality at the Community Garden site. <br /> <br />Ms. Andrzejewski made a motion to approve the 2013 Environmental Board <br />Goals with two additions. Mr. Heiskary seconded the motion to approve the <br />agenda. Motion carried unanimously <br /> <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEM <br /> <br />A. New Recycling Imitative/Updates <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson presented the past three months of totals for our monthly recycle <br />day. <br /> <br />It was suggested to call Lupus, Courage Center and Friendship Venture to see <br />if they would attend the monthly recycle day for collection of household goods <br />for free. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated part of the City’s score dollars from Anoka County have <br />been put toward advertising and promoting recycling. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated the can cage has been delivered to the Centennial Fire <br />Station site on Lake Drive. He stated Jim Keinath, City Administrator for <br />Circle Pines, stated their City Council has approved a can cage location in <br />Circle Pines. The City of Lino Lakes will receive the revenue and the City of <br />Circle Pines will receive the tonnages. <br /> <br />B. Introduce Jessica Bromelkamp, Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) <br />Outreach and Education Coordinator. <br /> <br />Ms. Bromelkamp stated she started her employment with the RCWD a week <br />ago. Her hope is to be collaborating on joint projects with the City. She <br />stated if Board members have questions or ideas for collaborating, or if a <br />creative opportunity arises, feel free to give her a call. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor stated there is an educational kiosk in the lobby at city hall. She <br />stated if there are resources that can be added and shared, it would be helpful <br />to residents. <br />
