ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING December 15, 2010 <br />DRAFT MINUTES 2 <br />Add work with Centennial School District with focus on ECFE under first bullet <br />point. <br /> <br />Add Offer Build Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop under second bullet point. <br /> <br />Move last bullet point regarding conservation workshops to second bullet point. <br /> <br />Delete second paragraph under bullet point five. <br /> <br />Change out investigate and from the beginning of bullet point eight. <br /> <br />Change bullet point twelve to read Monitor comp plan approval process and any <br />new environmental impacts. <br /> <br />Add bullet point thirteen to read: Update current water management plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Heiskary made a motion approve the 2011 Environmental Board Goals with <br />changes. Ms. Andrzejewski seconded the motion to approve the goals. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEM <br />A. Peltier Lake Heron Colony Update <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson reported the new signs for Peltier Island were installed in October. <br /> <br />The next step for the island is to take a look at the trees and flashing. Ms. O’Dea <br />stated would be a good job for an Eagle Scout or Girl Scout. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor will choose a couple of dates and email those out to schedule a meeting <br />in February. <br /> <br />Ms. Andrzejewski questioned Chestnut tree replanting on the island. Mr. Asleson <br />stated about 85% of the Chestnuts look immature. He stated if we are able to get <br />6 trees out of them that would be great. <br />B. Emerald Ash Borer/Planting Diversity/Community Forest Bonding Grant <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson submitted a grant application to the Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources (DNR) to plant trees to create more forest diversity in the City <br />of Lino Lakes. He stated they would like to plant the trees in parks, <br />neighborhoods, on boulevards, etc. Mr. Asleson stated he should know by the <br />17th of December if we have received the grant. <br />
