ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING February 23, 2011 <br />DRAFT MINUTES 3 <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated we will look for volunteers to pop popcorn and to man the <br />inflatable play area. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated there will be a rain barrel workshop scheduled from 12:30- <br />1:30 and 1:30-2:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Board discussed topics for their table. The following topics were decided <br />upon: <br /> <br />Blue Heron information <br />SHEP (Stream Health Evaluation Program) <br />Project for kids to use recycle and insect stamps. <br />Hand out “what can be recycled” magnets. <br />Information on floating bogs. <br />Details on the garden plots. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor mentioned she would write a letter addressed to a local representative to <br />encourage bottle cap recycling. <br /> <br />C. Solid Waste Update <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated the Lino Lakes Spring Recycle Day will take place on May 7, <br />2011. <br /> <br />D. Anoka County Spring Activity: <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated Mary Alice Divine, Economic Development for the City of <br />Lino Lakes will try and submit an article about our Community Gardens in the <br />upcoming Anoka County Spring Activity Guide. <br /> <br />7. ADJOURN <br /> <br />It was noted that the next meeting of the Environmental Board will be on <br />Wednesday, March 30, 2011at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />There being no further business, Ms. Bor moved to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. Ms. <br />Andrzejewski seconded the motion.
