• MEMORANDUM <br />To: Michael Grochala <br />CC: Jeff Smyser <br />From: Marty Asleson <br />Date: 03/03/03 <br />Re: Environmental Board Recommendations /February 26, 2003 <br />The following recommendations were made at the February 26, 2003 Environmental <br />Board Meeting regarding the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill: <br />• The site landscaping proposal should be redesigned to reflect the original intent of the <br />Market Place Landscape Plan. <br />• - Island areas large enough to support shade trees should be designed into the <br />parking areas. <br />Additional shade trees should be incorporated in to the North and South <br />boundary areas of the design. <br />- Island areas on the SE and SW sides of the building should include shade <br />trees. <br />- Island areas on the SE and SW side of the building should include a native <br />"ornamental style" ground story that complements the front island design of <br />Target. <br />- Screening -type plant materials along Apollo Drive should be consistent with <br />the landscape -scale design approved in the Market Place Plan. <br />- Additional trees should be placed in the green area to the West of the building. <br />Additional shade trees should be placed along Apollo Drive. <br />Added trees should be oak species. Northern Pin/Red Oak or Burr /White <br />Oak. <br />• <br />
