b. Identify routes and receiving water bodies for runoff from the site; include major downstream
water bodies as well as the immediate receiving waters. Estimate impact runoff on the quality of
receiving waters.
Runoff from the site currently drains to Anoka County Ditch No.10 on the north end of the property
and ultimately discharges to Marshan Lake.
Following development of the proposed site, storm water will be treated through natural infiltration in
open spaces or through a storm water treatment system that will meet National Urban Runoff Program
(NURP) guidelines, City of Lino Lakes policies /criteria, and Rice Creek Watershed District rules. The
proposed best management practices for on -site storm water treatment includes vegetated filter
strips /swales, storm water detention ponds, and infiltration basins. Storm water rate control and
treatment will occur prior to any storm water being discharged to receiving water bodies.
18. Water quality: wastewaters
a. Describe sources, composition and quantities of all sanitary, municipal and industrial
wastewater produced or treated at the site.
Proposed uses include light manufacturing, office, retail sales and storage. The development site is
zoned Li, Light Industrial where raw materials are generally shipped in and not produced. Therefore,
generation of industrial wastewater is not anticipated.
. Normal domestic wastewater /sewage will be generated from the site. The projected sewer flows are
anticipated to be approximately 34,000 gallons per day.
b. Describe waste treatment methods or pollution prevention efforts and give estimates of
composition after treatment. Identify receiving waters, including major downstream water
bodies, and estimate the discharge impact on the quality of receiving waters. If the project
involves on -site sewage systems, discuss the suitability of site conditions for such systems.
All wastewater will be discharged into the City's collection system, thereby avoiding any direct
discharges to receiving water bodies.
c. If wastes will be discharged into a publicly owned treatment facility, identify the facility,
describe any pretreatment provisions and discuss the facility's ability to handle the volume and
composition of wastes, identifying any improvements necessary.
It has been determined that the sanitary sewer flows generated by the proposed development will not
exceed available capacity of the City of Lino Lakes and Metropolitan Council's sanitary sewer system.
Improvements that will be necessary to include the construction of gravity sanitary sewer to serve the
development.
d. If the project requires disposal of liquid animal manure, describe disposal technique and
location and discuss capacity to handle the volume and composition of manure. Identify any
improvements necessary. Describe any required setbacks for land disposal systems.
Not applicable.
Lakes Business Park EAW — July 21, 2003 15
Lino Lakes, MN
