Mr. Goertz replied the construction traffic would not go through that <br />• <br />development. <br />Ms. McDonald expressed concern regarding access off of Hodgson Road. She expressed <br />concern about the safety of the children in the area and an additional increase in traffic. <br />She expressed concern that there was no park in the area where children did not have to <br />cross a busy road. <br />Vice Chair Rafferty stated there had been many neighborhood meetings and he believed <br />the park issue was addressed. Mr. Goertz replied there was a designated park 300 feet to <br />the east, but the Park Board did not have the money to develop that park. He stated he <br />would follow up with the Park Department to see if funds could be set aside for a park. <br />Amy Medley, 6201 Linda Lane, expressed concern about the traffic and the townhome <br />development. <br />Kevin McLaughlin, 322 Linda Court, expressed concern about decreasing property <br />values and agreed with the other comments made. He stated he did not want to see lower <br />value properties in the development. He thanked Mr. Goertz for creating a buffer <br />between their development and the proposed townhomes. <br />Mary Altstatt, 6134 Ware Road, expressed concern about another access on Ware Road <br />and her not being able to get out of their driveway. She stated it was impossible to get <br />out of her driveway as it was. <br />Jim Davis, 6149 Ware Road, stated he did not want the townhomes on the south end of <br />the project and indicated he wanted to see it remain single - family homes. He expressed <br />concern about his property value. He expressed concern about basements being put in <br />also because of the wetness of the land. <br />Mr. Tralle made a MOTION to close the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. and was supported <br />by Mr. Corson. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Mr. Corson asked why where there multi - family zones in the City. Mr. Smyser replied <br />there were a number of factors that was considered when the City is planned, including <br />Met Council requirements. <br />Mr. Goertz stated he did not believe these were substandard homes and they would be <br />sold for $300,000.00 plus. He noted this would not be Section 8 housing. He indicated <br />he had held one neighborhood meeting and two public hearings for neighborhood input. <br />He stated he did not believe the resale value of the existing homes would be affected by <br />this development. He noted the covenants put on this development would regulate what <br />was put on the lots, which would benefit the Fox Trace neighborhood also. <br />411 Ms. McDonald expressed concern on townhome developments on both sides of Fox <br />Trace development. <br />
