E <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Smyser <br />P & Z MEETING DATE: September 10, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Discussion: Temporary Fabric Structures <br />BACKGROUND <br />As discussed at the June meeting, a number of residents are constructing temporary fabric <br />structures, primarily for storage of vehicles. This is a relatively new product that <br />typically consists of aluminum poles with plastic fabric stretched over the poles. The P & <br />Z indicated it wants to pursue adding language to the zoning ordinance to address this <br />type of structure. <br />The goal tonight is for the P & Z to recommend some specific requirements. Staff will <br />take those recommendations and prepare an ordinance for a public hearing at the October <br />meeting. (It will be an amendment of the zoning ordinance.) <br />The following matrix is presented to help with the discussion. Each row presents some <br />options for an issue. Each "option" column is not intended to form a related set of <br />requirements —we can mix up options from the different columns, or create new ones. <br />
