SIGNAGE PROPOSAL
RECEVED
APR 0 1 20n5
CITY OF LINO LAKES
The main purpose for any local business to use banners and/or temporary signs is o
attention to their business in order to draw new customers. This is especially difficult
when you are a new, independently owned, start-up business and are literally starting
with NO clients at all. Sometimes, additional signage can literally mean paying the bills
or losing not only your business, but everything you have used as collateral (i.e., house,
car, pensions, etc.). The majority of your new owners, unfortunately, are in this category.
We believe if the Planning & Zoning Committee /CityCouncil would give new businesses
some help to get us established we would become a vital asset to our "bedroom
community" of Lino Lakes.
Therefore, we would like to present some ideas and/or thoughts for a one year proposal
for new businesses opening up in the Lino Lakes area.
1) Help from the City Council to get metal signs (i.e., Chominix, McDonalds,
etc.) in 2 locations indicating the name of each store in the mall with an arrow
showing direction and distance to the mall. Size and shape approved by the
City of Lino Lakes (see Exhibit A).
OR
2) Rent space from an individual landowner to install a City approved sign (see
Exhibit B).
OR
3) Temporary sign (approved by City) to be placed in up to 3 locations 1 day per
week to advertise specials. Permit to be required at the date of opening to
remain in existence for 1 year (see Exhibit C).
AND /OR
4) Present new businesses opening up in the Lino Lakes area on the City cable
television for a period of time (to be determined).
AND /OR
5) Present new businesses in any /all City newspapers, announcements, etc.
Again, this is a one -year proposal for new, independently owned businesses to help us get
started.
