COUNCIL MINUTES June 2, 2014 <br />APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE : June 2, 2014 <br />5 TIME STARTED : 5:35 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED : 5:50 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Stoesz, Kusterman, Rafferty, <br />8 and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT : Council Member Roeser <br />10 <br />11 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Community Development Director Michael <br />12 Grochala; Chief of Police John Swenson; Finance Director Al Rolek; and City Clerk Julie Bartell <br />13 <br />14 PUBLIC COMMENT <br />15 <br />16 No one was present to address the council regarding a matter not on the agenda. <br />17 <br />18 SETTING THE AGENDA <br />19 <br />20 The agenda was approved as presented. <br />21 <br />22 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />23 <br />24 1A) Resolution No. 14 -50, Approving the Incorporation of Fire Services in the Public Safety <br />25 Department — Administrator Karlson reviewed the resolution, noting that the council previously <br />26 directed staff to continue toward the option of fire services within a public safety depai latent. The <br />27 council set this special meeting to allow further time for review of the Fire Department Analysis <br />28 report prepared by Springsted. The resolution lays out the process for moving in the direction of the <br />29 public safety department. <br />30 <br />31 The council discussed the consultant services anticipated in the future, including the services of <br />32 former Fire Chief Milo Bennett. <br />33 <br />34 Motion by Council Member Kusterman, seconded by Stoesz, to approve Resolution No. 14 -50, as <br />35 presented, was adopted on a voice vote.
