• <br />• <br />PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD <br />AGENDA ITEM 8A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Paul Bengtson <br />MEETING DATE: March 14, 2012 <br />TOPIC: Discussion of a proposed amendment to the Industrial <br />Zoning Districts <br />VOTE REQUIRED: NONE — Discussion purposes only <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council engaged the planning consulting company Landform to complete a review of <br />the existing Industrial Zoning Districts within the zoning ordinance and ensure that the standards <br />were consistent with the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and ensure a continued quality of <br />development in the city's industrial districts. <br />BACKGROUND <br />This item was added to the agenda for discussion purposes and the Economic Development <br />Advisory Committee was invited to attend to participate in the discussion. Kendra Lindahl, of <br />Landform has prepared the draft ordinance language which is attached. A memorandum from <br />Ms. Lindahl explains the process Landform has followed and a summary of the proposed <br />changes. Ms. Lindahl will be presenting the ordinance language and facilitating the discussion <br />of the proposed language. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is seeking input from the Planning and Zoning Board and the Economic Development <br />Advisory Committee to refine the language before bringing the amendment forward for <br />consideration by the advisory boards and the City Council. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
