City <br />Council requested staff to compile information regarding the City ordinance and <br />residential accessory buildings and review with the Planning & Zoning Board. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Current City Ordinance <br />Chapter 1007, Section 1, Subd. 2.B. of the zoning ordinance defines the following: <br />Accessory Building. A portion of the principal building or a detached structure <br />on the same lot which is used for an accessory use. <br />Accessory Use. A use of land or of a building or portion thereof customarily <br />incidental and subordinate to the principal use of the land or building and located <br />on the same lot with such principal use. <br />Detached Garage. A one -story accessory building used or intended for the <br />storage of motor driven passenger vehicles. <br />Garage. A deck building or structure, or part thereof, used or intended to be used <br />for the parking and storage of vehicles. <br />Tool Shed A small one -story accessory building used or intended for the storage <br />of hobby tools and garden equipment. <br />
