• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM VIII B. i. <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Smyser <br />P & Z MEETING DATE: March 11, 2009 <br />TOPIC: Discussion: Requests for Changes to Land Use Map and <br />Staging Map in the Draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />BACKGROUND <br />The P & Z Board held a public hearing to consider the draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan on <br />September 9, 2008. The City Council decided that the Board should hold a second public <br />hearing to allow public discussion of comments and revisions to the draft that have occurred <br />since September. The second public hearing is scheduled for the P & Z meeting on April 8, <br />2009. <br />The discussion in September included some requested changes to the land use designations and <br />the staging map. Since then, we have received four additional requests to change the land use <br />map and/or the staging plan map. Staff anticipates that the property owners requesting the <br />changes will attend the public hearing and is presenting the requests tonight to inform the Board <br />of the requests. <br />The requests include: <br />1. Beecher property, 797 Main St.: Guide the site Mixed Use to allow for home business <br />computer service and sales. <br />2. Nogai property, 1370 Birch St.: Bring the site into pre -2030 staging area. <br />3. Joyer property, Main St. west of Elbe St.: Bring the site into Stage 1 (2009- 2020). <br />4. Leroux property, 2104 64th St.: Bring the site into pre -2030 staging area. <br />The attached information indicates the locations of these properties and includes information <br />analyzing the requests. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff will present the analyses for discussion and is seeking comments from the Board to guide <br />preparation for the public hearing. <br />
