• <br />WHEREAS: <br />By providing better choices for how people work and live, community planning <br />helps citizens manage changes that affect all cities, towns, suburbs, counties, <br />boroughs, townships, and rural areas; and <br />WHEREAS: Community planning provides an opportunity for all residents to be <br />meaningfully involved in making choices that determine the future of their <br />communities; and <br />WHEREAS: The month of October is designated as National Community Planning Month <br />throughout the United States of America and its territories; and <br />WHEREAS: By recognizing Community Planning Month, Minnesotans publically <br />acknowledge the participation and dedication of the members of planning <br />commissions and other citizen planners, who dedicate their time and expertise <br />to the improvement of the State of Minnesota. <br />• Now, THEREFORE, L TIM PAWLENTY, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim the <br />month of October 2009, to be: <br />• <br />COMMUNITY PLANNING MONTH <br />in the State of Minnesota. <br />SECRETARY OF STATE <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set <br />my hand and caused the Great Seal of the <br />State of Minnesota to be affixed at the State <br />Capitol this fifth day of October in the year of <br />our Lord two thousand and nine, and of the <br />State the one hundred fifty- first. <br />GOVERNOR <br />
