I <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />Planning & Zoning Board <br />January 12, 2000 <br />Page 11 <br />Center will be a new zoning district with its own zoning standards. Staff distributed a <br />map of the land use plan and schedule for review and rezoning of the Town Center. <br />A preliminary master plan has been developed that includes mini zoning districts that will <br />be pedestrian friendly. Staff reviewed the City process that the zoning amendment will <br />have to go through. <br />Staff requested the Planning and Zoning Board schedule six special meetings to review <br />sections of the master plan. The meetings will be open to the public and land owners. <br />The Planning and Zoning Board scheduled the following meetings: <br />1. Tuesday, January 25, 2000, 7:00 a.m. <br />2. Tuesday, February 1, 2000, 7:00 a.m. <br />Chair Schaps requested Planning and Zoning Board members let staff know their <br />preference for the following four meetings. <br />Staff added each Board member will receive th <br />the first meeting. <br />A. Environmental Manage <br />Mr. J.P. Houchins, Chair of the E <br />Environmental Management Plan <br />statement about the need for <br />on the formation of the Env' <br />Specialists were brought in to <br />the environment within developm <br />st sec'1 of the master plan prior to <br />Board, stated the City has worked on an <br />ears. The 20/20 Vision plan made a strong <br />ntal plan. Mr. Houchins gave the background <br />Board and the Environmental Management Plan. <br />a plan and recommendations on how to maintain <br />Mr. Houchins and Mr. Asleson, Environmental Specialist, conducted a slide presentation <br />of the Environmental Management Plan to the Planning and Zoning Board. <br />Mr. Corson asked how trail connections will be constructed over wetlands. <br />Mr. Houchins advised the Plan indicates trail corridors for future connections. He noted <br />that achieving the objectives of the plan will require a commitment from all parties <br />involved. <br />Chair Schaps stated the document is impressive. He expressed appreciation for all the <br />work put into the plan. He asked if the Environmental Board will make a <br />recommendation regarding where to start with the Plan. <br />
