5.2 OPEN SPACE DISTRICT STANDARDS <br />The Open Space Districts have been designated to protect valuable natural features including hill- <br />sides, creeks, significant woodlands and heritage trees. <br />Permitted Uses. <br />Parks. In Parks, minor structures such as bandstands, gazebos, storage sheds, and food concession <br />stands are permitted, provided that all structures occupy no more than 10 percent of each park area. <br />Furthermore, each structure may not exceed 500 square feet floor area. Trails, pathways, and children's <br />play structures are also permitted in Parks. <br />Buildings adjacent to Parks must face the Park, rather than backing or siding onto it. <br />Natural Resource Areas. No structures or paved areas are allowed in Natural Resource Areas ex- <br />cept for trails designed according to the specifications here. <br />Buildings adjacent to Natural Resource Areas must face the Resource Area, rather than backing or <br />siding onto it. <br />Park Design <br />Schematics, pavings & planting *, furnishings * — to be developed <br />Park & Trail Framework <br />Trail Hierarchy and Design <br />Conservation Areas* <br />To be developed <br />Pathways.
