The width of the paved walking surface must be at least six feet clear. Any <br />covered structure such as a trellis must have at least 10 feet dear height, but must not obstruct visibility <br />or provide hiding or ambush places. <br />Paving. Connecting walkways must be paved with a special paving or concrete in a pattern or color <br />that contrasts with the surrounding pavement, as specified under Public Improvements. <br />Tree Planting. Connectingwalkways mustbe plantedwith either shade trees spaced 30 feet on center <br />or a shade structure such as a trellis with climbingvines. <br />Lighting. Connectingwalkways must be equipped with lighting on one side, at least 3 feet in height in <br />order to be visible in deep snow drifts or snow banks. Lighting standards spaced a maximum of 30 <br />feet apart, and a maximum of 10 feet tall, are recommended. <br />Parking Lots <br />Parking lot islands mustbe landscaped to include trees and additional plantings. <br />37 <br />
