• • • The meter /preamplifier /microphone system was calibrated before and after the measurements. A Larson -Davis Model CA250 (S/N 2162) acoustic calibrator was used according to the manufacturer's instructions. The acoustic calibrator used produces a 114 decibel tone at 250 Hz. The manufacturer checked the accuracy of the calibrator on October 18, 2000. Measurement Location The measurements were made about ten feet inside of the north property line of the facility and approximately 35 feet west of the clearing at the nearby resident's bridge. The distance to the outdoor production operations was about 1,200 feet. The distance to the north berm on the facility property was about 135 feet. The sound level meter was attached to a tripod approx. 4.5 feet above the ground with the microphone pointed towards the outdoor production operation. Weather Conditions During the measurements on October 24th, the temperature was 59°F with a relative humidity of 92 %. No precipitation occurred during the measurement period. No significant wind was noted. During the measurements on October 25th, the temperature was 63°F with a relative humidity of 89 %. Drizzle/light rain occurred for about 15 minutes during the measurement period. A slight breeze was noted during the precipitation event.
