The Saddle Club Addition will need to have two entrance/exits into the development. I noticed the development will be utilizing both Old Birch and Killdeer Dr to gain access into the development. Old Birch is a dangerous option. Both entrance /exits of Old Birch have blind approaches and poor lighting. Merging traffic has a limited area to accelerate up to speed on Birch St, and limited area to slow down, to make the turn onto Old Birch. Winter driving conditions will make this area even worse. The Blackduck Dr, (via Killdeer access) is a better choice, traffic is able to see oncoming traffic from both East and West Birch St. The Killdeer/Blackduck Drive access is a much safer alternative, as Birch Street has turn lanes installed for the traffic that wishes to enter /exit the Blackduck Drive development. I would strongly recommend using the Killdeer Drive option over the Old Birch option. The Killdeer Drive/Blackduck Drive entrance /exit will no doubt reduce the chances of a fatal accident by allowing the motorists time to merge onto Birth Street and the ability for motorists to judge distances of oncoming vehicles.
