• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM VII B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Smyser <br />P & Z MEETING DATE: April 11, 2007 <br />TOPIC: Comprehensive Plan Update <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Panel met April 4. The Panel discussed topics to be <br />included in the preparation of goals and policies. The suggested topics will be combined <br />with the goals and strategies in the 2020 Vision Plan to create a set of draft goals and <br />policies for the new Comprehensive Plan. The draft will be discussed and revised at the <br />Advisory Panel's next meeting on April 18. Then we will bring the draft goals and <br />policies to the Environmental Board, Economic Development Advisory Committee, and <br />Park Board for review. <br />The Advisory Panel discussion was very productive, resulting in better understanding that <br />various elements that make up a community transportation, neighborhoods, commercial <br />development, natural resources —are interrelated and interdependent. <br />Staff is interested in comment from P & Z members on the Advisory Panel meeting. <br />
