Planning & Zoning Board
April 11, 2007
Page 8
B. Comprehensive Plan Update
Mr. Smyser summarized that the Advisory Panel met on April 4 and put together draft
goals & policies. He said that a revised draft will go to the boards and EDAC for review
and comment. He added that the document will not be brought to a P &Z Board Meeting
since all P &Z members are on the Advisory Panel. Mr. Smyser stated that staff believed
the meeting on the 4th was very productive. He noted that members of the panel
recognized they all had different views and to make one thing happen means other things
must then happen. Mr. Smyser asked board members for comments on the meeting or
the process itself.
Mr. Laden said that he left with a positive feeling that through this process, the Comp
Plan will include a lot of resident input.
Mr. Nelson commented that there was a good recognition that there is cause and effect
with development.
Mr. Rafferty found it positive that everyone seemed to be thinking about other people's
opinions and addressing issues that might be of concern.
The next meeting of the Advisory Panel is on April 18, 2007.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Root made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 9:57 p.m. Motion was supported
by Mr. Pogalz. Motion carried 6 -0.
Respectfully submitted,
Dawn Bugge
Community Development Assistant
DRAFT MINUTES
•
•
