Planning & Zoning Board
October 10, 2007
Page 2
Mr. Bengtson presented the staff report. He clarified that limits will not be placed
regarding the size of docks. He stated that mowing of areas within the conservation
easement will not be allowed, and that the city will be responsible for regulating the
conservation easement area.
Mr. Mike Black, Royal Oaks Realty, applicant, thanked city staff for their cooperation
with this application.
Mr. Pogalz made a MOTION to recommend approval of the Final Plat for an eight lot
residential subdivision to be called Grandview at 7330 Lake Drive. Motion was
supported by Mr. Laden. Motion carried 5 - 0.
VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Update on Comp Plan Process
Mr. Smyser stated that the Advisory Panel meeting for October was cancelled due to the
extensive work involved in updating information gathered at the September meeting.
Staff is currently working with the Rice Creek Watershed District to analyze storm water
management and runoff. Federal and local agencies are working with staff to produce a
quality end result. Mr. Smyser concluded that although the process is behind in the
original time schedule, the progress made has been worth it.
Mr. Smyser stated that staff foresees some changes to city ordinances, but to what extent
will be determined as the process continues.
B. Update on 49/J
Mr. Smyser reminded the board that staff has been working with three other jurisdictions
to finalize the signalization at the intersection of County Road J and Hodgson Road. Due
to budget issues, the signals are now planned for installation in 2008.
Mr. Smyser explained that the jurisdictions decided that the signals should be installed
while the money is available. Mr. Smyser added that any necessary improvements to, or
relocations of, the signals when development occurs will be paid for the most part by the
developer(s).
VII. ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Laden made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m. Motion was supported
by Mr. Hyden. Motion carried 5 -0.
Respectfully submitted,
Dawn Bugge
Community Development Assistant
DRAFT MINUTES
•
•
•
