(CCES) has prepared the
following Wetland Determination Update for the property known as Wollan's Park which is
located at the north end of Diane St. in Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
CCES conducted an out -of -season wetland determination of the existing wetlands located within
the park boundary on December l st, 2009. Data on soils, hydrology, and vegetation were
collected and will be submitted to the local government unit (LGU) in report form and other
interested agencies as an out -of -season determination letter yet this year. An in -season wetland
delineation report will be required for submittal in the spring of 2010 during the growing season
for official concurrence of the wetland located on the subject property. The determination letter
submitted in 2009 will be revised and submitted to the LGU in 2010 as an official wetland
delineation report with updated hydrology and vegetative information collected in the spring of
2010. The out -of -season determination letter will act as a preliminary planning tool for the
determination of the wetland -upland boundaries located on -site.
Much of the park is jurisdictional wetland so the lines set in the ground are boundaries that
define the upland areas within this large wetland complex. The upland areas consist mainly of
Northern pin oak dominated woodlands and forests that occur on the outer boundary of the
wetland complex as well as two islands of upland within the wetland itself. From our wetland
determination there is 13.38 acres of wetland and 4.24 acres of upland located within Wollan's
Park.
CCES staff set pink pin flags at each wetland -upland point and then located all of these points
using a sub -meter accuracy GPS instrument which provides the graphical representation of the
wetland -upland boundaries using geographic information systems (GIS) software and recent
aerial photography. This GIS information is included as an attached figure which will assist you
with your wetland banking planning during the winter months.
We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with this wetland banking project and hope the
information is a helpful planning tool.
Respectfully submitted,
Critical Connections Ecological Services, Inc.
Jas • n J.
