• <br />City of Lino Lakes - Woolan's Park <br />Wetland Delineation Report <br />Critical Connections Ecological Services, Inc. <br />December 10, 2009 <br />The upland plant species documented at the transect for Area E include: Paper birch, <br />Penn's sedge, Lowbush blueberry, Northern pin oak, black cherry, and Cinnamon fern. <br />The wetland plant species documented at the transect for Area E include: Canada <br />blue -joint grass, Reed canarygrass, Glossy buckthorn, Steeplebush, and Swamp <br />milkweed (Asclepias incarnata). <br />The wetland soil sample documented at the transect for Area E was comprised mainly <br />of peat with some sand to a depth of 8 ", sand with some peat to a depth of 16" and fine <br />sands below to a depth of 32 ". The soil in the upland pit was primarily fine sand with a <br />thin sandy organic duff layer. The matrix color indicated a hydric soil (low - chroma) for <br />the wetland soil pit within the wetland boundary. Organic streaking was present in the <br />upland soil pit. The soils in and around Area E are mapped as Soderville fine sand and <br />Isanti fine sandy loam. <br />Area F <br />Area F is located in the northwestern part of the park with the single large wetland <br />complex located to the all around it. This area is a small upland Northern pin oak <br />woodland with a wetland fringe surrounding it that is dominated by Reed canarygrass <br />and Canada blue -joint grass. The general topography rises from the wetland edge up a <br />few inches to where the oak trees become dominant. <br />Photo of Area F looking toward the east <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />
