The workshop will educate participants about water quality and water conservation and guide them through the construction of their own oak or plastic rain barrel. The City is requesting a $700.00 water quality grant to subsidize the cost of rain barrel kits for up to 20 participants. Environmental Benefits (include habitat, pollutant removal, acres of runoff treated, erosion /sediment control, etc.) See attached page. Project Timeline The workshop will be conducted at the Lino Lakes City Hall or Wargo Nature Center, in April or May 2011. The City will advertise the workshop in the spring 2011 Lino Lakes newsletter. The deadline to submit the rain barrel workshop announcement for the spring 2011 newsletter is January 20, 2011.
