Residential Waste Reduction, Reuse and Recycling Strategies — The county will: <br />1. Promote <br />• waste reduction actions, <br />• reuse opportunities such as waste exchanges and thrift stores, and <br />• recycling options, such as curbside service, drop -off centers, and redemption centers. <br />2. Provide technical assistance to develop and implement cost - effective recycling programs. <br />3. Continue to work with municipalities and thetivaste industry to encourage the enhancement of <br />existing programs and development of new programs. <br />4. Work with municipal recycling coordinators and recycling service providers to develop and <br />implement best management practices for residential recycling. Promote waste reduction, reuse, and recycling to non - residential generators. <br />2. Evaluate the need for and development of recycling drop -off opportunities for non - residential <br />generators. <br />4. Continue to recognize environmentally responsible non - residential generators that make a <br />significant contribution to reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. <br />5. Work with the region to improve the quality of non - residential recycling data. <br />6. Focus outreach efforts on non - residential generators with the greatest potential to increase <br />recycling and recover organics.
