Park Board Meeting - October 27, 2004 <br />Minutes <br />Aaron stated the City lacks long destination trails and the <br />development is a good starting point for the City. <br />It was the consensus of the Park Board to support the Fox Den <br />Acres Conservation development as well as the conservation <br />development approach as a whole. <br />Aaron Frederickson made a motion of support, seconded by Pam <br />Taschuk, for the Fox Den Acres Conservation Development as <br />presented to the Environmental Board. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM OCTOBER 4, 2004: <br />Aaron noted "Frederickson" is spelled incorrectly in the second <br />paragraph on the first page of the minutes. <br />Pam Taschuk made a motion, seconded by Katie Boyle, to approve <br />the October 4, 2004 minutes as amended. The minutes were <br />approved. <br />SETTING THE AGENDA: <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />• No one was present for open mike. <br />REVIEW PARK DEDICATION STUDY: <br />Rick advised a study was undertaken last month to analyze the <br />current park dedication fee structure. That information was <br />distributed to the City Council for review and comment. Included <br />in the packets was a copy of the study as well as an accompanying <br />memo that was distributed to all Council Members. It is <br />anticipated that the City Council will formally discuss updating <br />the Park Dedication Fee Ordinance next month. <br />• <br />Rick asked Park Board members to review the study and contact him <br />regarding any proposed changes. <br />REVIEW 2004 GOALS: <br />Rick provided the following update related to each of the 2004 <br />goals: <br />Connect Existing Trail Along North Side of Birch Street - Black <br />Duck Drive to Pheasant Hills Drive <br />Staff has sent a letter to the Anoka County Highway Department <br />requesting their comments related to this trail project. Since <br />the proposed trail segment would not adhere to the County's new <br />standards of a 22' buffer zone from a rural roadway to an off - <br />road trail, staff hopes that Anoka County will be willing to work <br />with the City to complete this critical project.
