• <br />Park Board Meeting - November 7, 2005 <br />Minutes <br />Volunteer Application Form - Rick referred to a copy of the <br />volunteer application form that the Recreation Department has <br />recently implemented. <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor, which <br />summarizes the maintenance highlights for October 2005. He noted <br />new gates and stop signs were installed at the trail entrance on <br />the east side of Rice Lake Elementary School due to an accident. <br />Chair Lindy requested Rick inquire about the Patrol Program at <br />the school regarding this issue. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Determine 2006 Park Board Schedule - Rick referred to a proposed <br />schedule of 2006 Park Board meetings. <br />It was the consensus of the Park Board to change the July meeting <br />to Monday, July 10, 2006. <br />CONSIDER 2006 PARK BOARD GOALS: <br />Rick advised it is time to start considering possible Park Board <br />Goals for 2006. He reviewed an updated Dedicated Parks Fund <br />sheet noting the amount of total Undesignated Funds is $155,598. <br />• He noted the City Council has also designated $30,000 for trails <br />development in the proposed 2006 General Fund Budget. <br />Aaron suggested the Park Board look at completing the trail along <br />Birch Street and possibly a survey regarding the need for a dog <br />park within the City. <br />Chair Lindy suggested constructing a bridge in Pheasant Hills. <br />Aaron excused himself from the meeting at 8:30pm. <br />Pam suggested constructing open air shelters at Behm's and <br />Highland Parks. <br />Pat suggested the possibility of re- master planning Country Lakes <br />Park. <br />Rick advised the Park Board can continue this discussion at the <br />meeting in December. <br />Chair Lindy requested Rick inquire with the County regarding a <br />mountain bike trail within the regional park. <br />• NEXT PARK BOARD MEETING: <br />Chair Lindy advised the next Park Board meeting would be held on <br />Monday, December 5, 2005, 6:30 p.m. <br />3 <br />
