• dollars. The soccer club is like the basketball association, we each own no facilities and rely on the school district to provide these facilities to us. The City of Lino Lakes has a separate agreement that should in no way affect the usage of fields by the soccer club. We all need to maximize usage of all possible green spaces to support youth athletics in our communities and cannot have a few neighbors at some parks affect the hundreds of families that can benefit from their usage. We no longer have the luxury of keeping city parks for usage by children (mostly under age 7) and unorganized activities without any consideration for youth athletics. Either way Soccer or Lacrosse will need to be played at Sunset Oaks and I guess we have to be equitable on where the Lacrosse program plays it's games. I don't think just because soccer is huge and and Lacrosse is growing necessarily means the Lacrosse program gets the leftovers either. Plus the Lacrosse program is run through the Lino Lakes Parks and recreation department as we are sponsoring that activity. CSC is a club that uses our fields and trust me we take good care of that program here but it may be time to think of sharing fields in the community. Trust me I value soccer heck my daughter is on the U13 team this summer so if anything I would be more partial to soccer. But it's hard for me to justify to the 100 -150 lacrosee people why we would have to play at Sunset Oaks all the time. I will talk to Mike and Rick to get there thoughts and to see how Sunset Oaks would work for lacrosse and get back to you. Well talk soon. The field is of sufficient size for Lacrosse. I also believe laid out correctly, you will have enough room if the outfield fence is removed to accommodate a Lacrosse field at Lino Park. We have enough ground around the community to make this work. Taking field space away from the soccer club (over 20 yrs. in existence) and jeopardizing the future of the U13+ program with 800+ soccer families and ISD #12 taxpayers in the community is not the least path of resistance for both sports to exist in Lino Lakes.
