The club has been involved with an issue with the City of Lino Lakes over soccer
field usage for over 12 months but it has accelerated and became a significant problem
over the past month. To review: the City of Lino Lakes Park & Rec. Dept. has already
taken away the city park fields for the Soccer Club's U6 -08 program I have had to work
with the ISD #12, City of Centerville and City of Circle Pines to relocate this program to
fields sites in their communities. Just last week the Park & Rec. Dept. informed the club
that they are going to take the U13 field out of play at the CMS on Thursday nights to
support their Lacrosse program without utilizing their own park fields. They have made
indications that they will take more fields and or nights out of play for their own
programs in the future.
This is bad news for the club, players and parents. I have already contacted all
summer coaches that I have had phone numbers for to call all their parents to notify them
of this issue.
THE CLUB IS ASKING THAT AS MANY PARENTS AND PLAYERS AS POSSIBLE SHOW UP FOR A LINO
LAKES PARK & REC. MEETING ON MONDAY, MARCH 6, AT LINO LAKES CITY HALL - CITY COUNCIL
CHAMBERS TO SHOW SUPPORT AGAINST THE PARK & REC. DEPT'S ACTIONS. WE ARE ON THE AGENDA TO
DISCUSS SUMMER FIELD SCHEDULING, THEIR WILL ALSO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK ON OPEN MIKE
FOR 2 MINUTES PER PERSON FOR THOSE WITH STRONG FEELINGS THAT THEY WISH TO EXPRESS IN
ADDITION TO THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO SPEAK. PLEASE CONTACT ME AT
651 - 481 -1020 WITH ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT - LET'S KEEP SOCCER IN PLAY AT CMS AND RICE
LAKE!!!
BEST REGARDS,
JAY PETERSON
FIELD DIRECTOR
2
