SPECIAL JOINT MEETING MAY 31, 2006 <br />APPROVED <br />1 very unique plant community. The area is in need of restoration and stewardship. The <br />2 plan that has been put together would result in the rare plant life flourishing. <br />3 <br />4 Mr. Schoenbauer provided a power point presentation that included the conservation <br />5 development background, public values and economic realities. <br />6 <br />7 Mr. Schoenbauer presented the proposed plan in comparison to a traditional development. <br />8 Comparisons included number of residential units and proposed trails. He reviewed <br />9 images, economic impacts and the phasing plan. He also noted the basic agreement <br />10 parameters in terms of the developer and the City. <br />11 <br />12 Community Development Director Grochala introduced Mr. Rick Carlson and Mr. John <br />13 Peterson, developers of the proposed plan. He indicated the developers have been very <br />14 cooperative and eager to work with the City on this project. <br />15 <br />16 Discussion — Mr. Schoenbauer stated staff and the development team would like <br />17 feedback to determine if they are going in the right direction with the project. <br />18 <br />19 Concerns and issues raised through the discussion included the following: <br />20 <br />21 1. Impact on wildlife and breeding of wildlife <br />22 2. Creation of a wildlife and Blanding corridor <br />j 23 3. Destroying forest areas and mature trees <br />24 4. Management of stewardship <br />25 5. Water run -off <br />26 6. Philosophy of sub - contractors <br />27 7. Traffic <br />28 8. Construction of sidewalks throughout the development <br />29 9. Developer contribution to infrastructure <br />30 10.
