Create a Comprehensive Plan for housing development that defines the types and <br />locations of housing development required to meet the community's projected needs. <br />2. Work closely with neighboring communities to ensure an integrated plan that is <br />consistent with the Metropolitan Council's requirements and compatible with adjacent <br />jurisdictions. <br />3. Coordinate the plans for housing with plans for light industrial and commercial <br />businesses to balance land uses, serve the quality of life needs of the residential areas, <br />foster a positive business climate for light industrial and commercial business, and <br />expand and balance the community's tax base. <br />4. Ensure compatibility of adjacent land uses. <br />5. Create a staging plan for future development. <br />6. Update zoning map to conform to land use map. <br />Strategies: <br />1. Link trails to parks and lakes. <br />2. Establish guidelines for the appropriate inclusion of green spaces, paths, sidewalks, and <br />other people oriented amenities throughout the city. <br />
