• <br />• <br />Park Board Meeting — February 4, 2008 <br />Minutes <br />The February 4, 2008 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at <br />6:40 p.m., by Chair Lindy. No action was taken on the agenda items as there wasn't a <br />quorum present. <br />Roll call was taken; members present were George Lindy, Bill Kusterman and Pat <br />Huelman. Members absent were Paul Montain, Pam Taschuk and Katie Boyle. <br />Also present was Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director and Sandie Wood, Public <br />Services Office Manager. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JANUARY 7, 2008: <br />No action taken. <br />SETTING AGENDA: <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />No one was present for open mike. <br />REVIEW PROPOSED 2008 PARK DEDICATION FEE ANALYSIS: <br />Rick told members that staff has spent the last several months preparing the Park <br />Dedication Analysis Report to help determine whether any adjustments to the current <br />Park Dedication Fee Ordinance are warranted. The current Park Dedication Fee is <br />$2,075 per residential unit, and $2,175 per acre for commercial and industrial. <br />He explained the report in more detail at the meeting. He said he is interested in the <br />Park Board's comments and suggestions. Staff is also exploring the possibility of <br />incorporating an open space and /or recreation complex fee. It is anticipated that the <br />proposed ordinance will be going to city council within the next few months. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from January 2008. He touched on Snow <br />Day, Sweetheart Dance, Open Volleyball, Open Basketball and warming houses. He <br />said staff is currently working on the next brochure which comes out early March. <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATES: <br />Rick told the members the work on the Pheasant Park boardwalk was going along very <br />well. It is anticipated that Tree Trust will complete the project in February. He <br />responded to member's questions. Rick told members that staff is working on trail <br />clearing and rink maintenance. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Members asked Rick if he had gone before the city council with the 2008 goals. He <br />said he is still working on this and will go before city council when he is finished. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />There was no new business to discuss. <br />1 <br />
