Applications must be submitted by March 31
to be eligible for funding assistance for the current year. Applicants are eligible to receive
more than one grant.
FUNDING
Funding is provided through the state Parks and Trails Fund, which constitutes a portion of
the dedicated sales tax revenue resulting from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy
constitutional amendment approved by voters in 2008.
GRANT A WARDS AND MATCH REQUIREMENTS
A maximum grant amount of 75% of the total eligible project costs. Applicants must be able
to fund at least 25% of the total project costs. The applicant's match must be cash. Other state
funds or grants, or funds distributed by the Metropolitan Council, cannot be used as match for
these grants. The minimum grant amount is $20,000.
