• <br />Park Board Meeting — July 5, 2011 <br />Minutes <br />Sandie Wood swore in reappointed members Matt Koehn and Charles Evans. <br />The July 5, 2011 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. <br />by Acting Chair Bill Kusterman. <br />Roll call was taken; members present were Pat Huelman, Bill Kusterman, Richard <br />Jensen, Matt Koehn and Charles Evans. Members absent were George Lindy and <br />Byron Roland. <br />Also present was Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director and Sandie Wood, Public <br />Services Department Office Manager. <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 7, 2011: <br />Charles Evans made a motion to approve the February 7, 2011 minutes. Matt Koehn <br />seconded the motion and the minutes were approved as written. <br />4. SETTING AGENDA: <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />5. OPEN MIKE: <br />There was no one present for open mike. <br />• 6. REQUEST FOR TENNIS WALL AT CLEARWATER CREEK PARK: <br />Rick discussed the memo that was in the Park Board Members packets. He said earlier <br />this month staff received a request to install an 8'x24' plywood wall for tennis at <br />Clearwater Creek Park. (See packet for Exhibit A) A survey was then sent out to area <br />residents to solicit feedback on this request. (See packet for Exhibit B) Responses <br />received were included in the packet. (See packet for Exhibit D) <br />Rick gave the members background on this issue. He said in September 1, 1999 the <br />City obtained 5.5 acres of parkland in the Clearwater Creek Third Addition for a <br />neighborhood park. In November, 2000 a master planning meeting was held to allow <br />area residents an opportunity to provide input on what amenities they would like to be <br />considered. A follow -up meeting was held to review and comment on some better <br />defined scaled master plans. The final master plan was subsequently adopted by the <br />City Council in 2001. (See packet for Exhibit C) <br />In 2001, the City applied for and was awarded a $125,000 Outdoor Recreation Grant <br />from the Minnesota DNR to develop Clearwater Creek Park. The park was developed <br />during 2002 -2003. The park is fully developed per the adopted master plan with the <br />exception of the sand volleyball court. <br />The survey was sent to 320 area residents on June 10. Seventy -three surveys were <br />returned with the following results: <br />Yes 42 <br />No 25 <br />Doesn't matter 6 <br />
