• <br />Park Board Meeting — November 14, 2011 <br />Minutes <br />It was also suggested that he look on the Legacy Grant web site to see what other <br />information he would be able to obtain. <br />Rick also wanted member to know that the City of Lino Lakes would have to fund at <br />least 25% of the total project cost. The match has to be in cash and the project <br />completed within 24 months. Minimum grant amount is $20,000. <br />7. ADOPT MEETING CALENDAR FOR 2012: <br />Mr. DeGardner started by saying that the city has received no park dedication fees in <br />2011. He also said that there may not be a need for a meeting every month but that the <br />board should adopt a calendar for the year. <br />Rick told the board that WSB has a grant writer on staff they we may ask to come to a <br />future meeting to discuss grant writing and what grants are available. <br />The Park Board looked at the proposed calendar for 2012 and talked about the January <br />and July meeting dates. After further discussion Bill Kusterman made a motion to <br />accept the 2012 Calendar with the change that the July meeting be on Monday, July 9, <br />2012 at 6:30pm instead of July 2. Charles Evans seconded the motion and the meeting <br />calendar was adopted with the July change. <br />The following is the approved 2012 Park Board Calendar: <br />Tuesday, January 3, 2012 <br />Monday, February 6, 2012 <br />Monday, March 5, 2012 <br />Monday, April 2, 2012 <br />Monday, May 7, 2012 <br />Monday, June 4, 2012 <br />Monday, July 9, 2012 <br />Monday, August 6, 2012 <br />Tuesday, September 4, 2012 — Tour and BBQ <br />Monday, October 1, 2012 <br />Monday, November 5, 2012 <br />Monday, December 3, 2012 <br />8. WARMING HOUSE HOURS: <br />Rick talked about the memo included in the member's packet. He said that it was the <br />same schedule as what was proposed for 2010/2011. He added that the city was still <br />working with outside organizations to help maintain the rinks on weekends. <br />He talked about this being the third year that the warming house at City Hall has been <br />open. He suggested that the warming house not be eliminated and that there may be a <br />need to extend them in the future. <br />Members asked how the number of skaters is determined. Rick explained how staff <br />takes a count, on the hour, each hour the warming house is open. The Board <br />suggested that a 30 minute count be done for the 7, 8, and 9 o'clock hours, during the <br />week and on the weekend, so it could be determined if attendance drops off at those <br />times. <br />• 9. REVIEW RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick reviewed the update included in the member's packets. He talked about Gobbler <br />games and the number of kids that participated in the Fall Soccer and Football <br />Programs. <br />
