MEETING DATE: January 13, 2003 <br />TOPIC: FIRST READING, Ordinance 01-03 <br />Growth Management <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The growth management ordinance, Ord. 01 -03, is the first part of the package of <br />ordinances that will implement the new comprehensive plan. The subdivision ordinance <br />and the zoning ordinance are the other two main pieces of the package. <br />The Planning & Zoning Board held a public hearing on Ordinance 01 -03 on January 8. <br />The attached report is the P & Z staff report on the ordinance. <br />It is important to get the growth management ordinance adopted prior to the expiration of <br />the moratorium on residential development. The moratorium expires on February 22. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve the first reading of Ordinance 01 -03. <br />2. Return to staff with direction. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option 1: approve the first reading of Ordinance 01 -03. <br />
